Enduring Power of Attorney
Power of attorney is a legal device in Ireland that can be set up by a person during their life when they are in good mental health. It allows another specially appointed person to take legal and financial actions on their behalf if they are absent, abroad or incapacitated through illness.
An enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) also allows the person appointed to make “personal care decisions” on the donor’s behalf once they are no longer fully mentally capable of taking decisions for themselves.
You can appoint anyone you wish to be your attorney. The consequences for creating an Enduring Power of Attorney are far reaching and it is prudent to seek legal advice and support both for the creation of the Power of Attorney and later at the implementation thereof.
We offer clear advice and an efficient service in the appointment and implementation of an Enduring Power of Attorney.
